SOCIAL ROLES
Everyone has a desire to be useful, so we ensure that each resident has a role in the community. Working the front desk or serving neighbors are examples of meaningful tasks that empower and connect residents.

Our Montessori Assessment Tool, created by the Center for Applied Research in Dementia, uncovers remaining skills often missed by traditional assessments. We can than strengthen and build on those identified skills.
PROCEDURAL MEMORY

PROGRESSION AND GOAL SETTING

Through our award-winning SPARK® program, our residents produce and sell luxurious sugar scrubs, called Refresh with Love. Their products turn any shower into a spa experience. Developed and produced completely by our residents, the scrubs are available in Eucalyptus Joy, Orange Dream, Peppermint Breeze, Lemon Splash, and Lovely Lavender scents. Infused with soothing essential oils, the scrubs can quickly whisk away the stress of even the toughest days.
Our residents are very proud of their Refresh with Love scrubs and invite you to purchase one in the front lobby of our community. All proceeds from the scrubs benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

Ruth Vernotico
Executive Director
Ruth is the Executive Director at Aspen Ridge Memory Care. Ruth began their professional journey in graphic design, owning their own design firm for over 15 years, but has found their calling in healthcare leadership where they have worked for the last 5 years. While in Georgia, Ruth served on quite a few boards including the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter and the Oglethorpe County Health Department, and one of their first commitments upon arriving in Bend was to join the Public Health Advisory Board for Deschutes County. Ruth is passionate about animal advocacy, which has been a driving factor in their volunteer work and has led them to collaborate with the Audubon Institute, Louisiana Boxer Rescue, Athens-Clarke County Animal Shelter, and others. In addition, Ruth has worked to develop community programs that highlight and support 2SLGBTQI+ rights.
